The decline of public spaces is often predictable: they are either under-designed or overly prescriptive. Rotterdam’s main market square reflects this condition—vibrant on market days but empty and uninviting the rest of the week. This project proposes a gamified urban framework that enables communities to shape the space themselves, encouraging experimentation, appropriation, and a constantly evolving mix of activities beyond the market.
